Those planning to travel to Ireland from Holyhead or Pembroke with Irish Ferries can benefit from a free service which advises them by text of any sailing disruptions or major problems on routes to the ports
For example, should bad weather delay a ferry departure, travellers will receive a text from Irish Ferries advising them of the new timings so that they can either delay their departure from home or stop en route for a meal rather than waiting at the port.
A recent example was major road works on the Menai Bridge which were causing hold-ups of around an hour on this major route to Holyhead. On this occasion, customers were advised by text 24 hours in advance so they could amend their travelling time.
On Irish Ferries’ online booking forms there is an option to give a mobile ‘phone number to take advantage of this service. The company will not use this number for any other purpose than to advise of travel alterations.
