Irish Ferries, the low fares ferry company, has opened its doors for bookings on their 2008 services between Ireland and France with news of an early booking offer that promises 2007 prices and no fare increase to all who book before 31st January next.
Other highlights for 2008 include fares from EUR99 for car plus driver and the offer of a free trip to Britain for car plus two persons for those who make a return car trip to France between 1st June and 31st August.
Other big news for Irish Ferries customers is the arrival on to their Rosslare-Cherbourg/Roscoff routes of the luxurious new cruise ferry Oscar Wilde. Fresh from service in the Baltic Sea, the Oscar Wilde is set to bring new standards of luxury and accommodation to a service that is once again proving to be extremely popular.
Eleven decks high, the Oscar Wilde carries up to 1,458 passengers and 580 cars - with the good news that vehicles will be parked away from trucks on their own separate car decks. With its sleeker lines and excellent sea going qualities, it will have a faster speed of 21.5 knots, cutting one hour off current crossing times.
On board, passengers can choose from a range of 2, 3, 4 and 5-star cabins, all located high up, well above the waterline and all with their own ensuite facilities.
Accommodation in 2 and 3-star cabins includes two and four bed units, available with/without window, with more beds at floor level and few bunks. In the more luxurious 4-star cabins, where two and four bed options are available, passengers will enjoy the added luxury of a television, mini bar, fruit basket, trouser press and hairdryer. These features are replicated in top-of-the-range 5-star suites equipped with double beds plus the added appeal of waiter service breakfast and personalised cabin service. Good news for parents is that baby cots can be accommodated in all 3, 4 and 5-star cabins.
Recent recipient of two top UK travel awards, Irish Ferries is gearing up for what is expected will be a bumper 2008 season - driven by interest in their new vessel Oscar Wilde. For that reason, the companys Head of Passenger Sales, Declan Mescall reminds customers to book early to avail of lower fares and secure preferred sailings and accommodation.
