Travel by ferry an open and shut case

Arguments in favour of travel by ferry have become an ‘open and shut case’ according to Irish Ferries.

This follows the revelation that the world’s airlines ‘mislaid’ over 40 million items of luggage in 2007 - an increase of 8 million items on the 2006 figure.

This outcome is echoed in research carried out on behalf of the Passenger Shipping Association showing that worries about lost luggage and baggage restrictions now feature high on the list of things that passengers hate most about flying.

According to Irish Ferries head of passenger sales Declan Mescall, ‘not only should luggage not get lost when travelling by ferry, passengers also have the benefit of being able to bring as many items as they like in their car without restriction’.
