Passengers could have whale of a time - Irish Ferries
Passengers travelling from Rosslare to the UK or France could have a whale of a time in the true meaning of the term if the recent display by a humpback whale off the Wexford coast is repeated, according to Irish
Ferries.
As regular travellers will know, sailing by ferry offers a great opportunity to view the abundance of wildlife that abound on the Irish Sea, above and below the water. Species include guillemots, razorbills, cormorants, kittiwakes, gulls and gannets as well as dolphins, porpoises and whales.
For a number of years, Irish Ferries has worked with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group in a collaborative survey of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Every month, their experts conduct sighting surveys when sailing on Irish Ferries vessels on Dublin/Holyhead and Rosslare/Pembroke routes.
