If there is someone special in your life probably best not to bring them to the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking
Festival in County Clare where they may be propositioned by one of up to 40,000 bachelor farmers and
accompanying revellers.
Better perhaps, if you are not looking for romance,
to head for the Clarenbridge Oyster Festival
in Galway or the culinary delights of West Cork, famous for great restaurants &
scenery. And yes you will find the
best places from the comfort of your own car.
We also recommend you pack that car with
gourmet delights after a trip to the famous
English Market in Cork.
It is also very interesting to venture north to the Bushmills Distillery and see how Irish whiskey
is made. We Irish have always known that it is much better than Scotch because it is triple distilled
but don’t take our word for it. And if music is the food of love the Back Stairs Jazz Festival and the
Wexford Opera Festival are hard to beat. |
