Built in Gotenberg, the Normandy is named after the North
West region of France renowned for many things particularly
its beautiful beaches, and of course its culinary expertise.

Safety On Board
In order for all our passengers to enjoy their experience on the Normandy we have a
number of safety procedures which must be followed. These are in place for your benefit and safety.
Cabins
Cabins on orange decks 5 & 6 are reached by using
orange stairs only. There is no access to any car deck
from cabin decks 5 & 6. Passengers on cabin decks 5 & 6
access car decks from deck 7 via red, blue/yellow stairs
or lift.
Vehicle Loading Procedure
Loading vehicles onto the Normandy must satisfy certain safety procedures. To achieve the
best loading arrangements please be aware that a vehicle that has checked in after you may
be loaded before you.
Embarkation
On arrival on the car deck a staff member will direct you to a parking space. Before leaving
your vehicle please ensure you have:
- Switched off the lights.
- Switched off the ignition.
- Applied the hand-brake.
- Left the vehicle in gear.
For safety reasons it is not possible to return to your vehicle while the ship is at sea, so
please remember to take any hand luggage you may require during the crossing, along with
any valuables.
Check Your Stairways
To help you locate your vehicle at disembarkation time, we have colour coded each stairway;
please remember the colour of the door nearest your vehicle as you leave the car deck. On arrival, please do not proceed to your vehicle until told to do so. Your co-operation is
very much appreciated and will assist in a smoother disembarkation.
Disembarkation
Wait until the last moment before starting your vehicle's engine so as to avoid polluting the
air on the vehicle decks. When disembarking, follow the instructions given by the ship's staff.
Access and Facilities
If you or a member of your party has particular requirements, please let a member of staff
know, and where possible, we will be happy to assist. On board the Normandy the
following are in place for your convenience; wheelchair, wheelchair accessible areas, cabins,
toilets and a lift.
No Smoking
It is illegal to smoke in any enclosed area on the ship. Smoking is permitted to smoke on the outer decks.
