In order to bring the story of Ulysses to life, a Walking
Tour has been created on board so that you and your family
can stroll through the world of Joyce while discovering the
ship and all she has to offer. By taking this tour and answering
the twelve set questions correctly - you could win your next
trip absolutely free!
Acknowledged
as one of the most important works of the twentieth century,
James Joyce`s Ulysses records the adventures of one Leopold
Bloom in and around Dublin city and suburbs. The story
take s place on a single day - 16th June 1904 - the day
James Joyce met his beloved Nora Barnacle and immortalised
her forever in his book..
Each chapter is based around a different hour of the day
16th June and to commemorate this we placed 12 clocks at
various points of interest around the vessel.
The answer
to each of the twelve questions are hidden in the clocks!
Because Ulysses contains no description of its principal
character Leopold Bloom, you are left to imagine what he
might have looked like. To help passengers put a face on
this illustrious figure, one of the amusing features on
the Ulysses Walking Tour is the Leopold Bloom Mirror -
a feature without a face! Gazing into the mirror you can
picture yourself as Leopold Bloom and "reflect" on
what his face might have looked like.
