£228 for a Weekend in Ireland with Irish Ferries

31 Aug 2017

Three nights in a castle hotel overlooking Dublin Bay at just £228 is a great offer from Irish Ferries, travelling between now and 30 September.

That’s the price per person for a self-drive package that includes cruise ferry travel to Ireland for a car, and three nights sharing a double or twin room at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, with ‘the full Irish’ breakfast each morning: bargain!

The welcoming four-star hotel is superbly set on the brow of Killiney Hill, overlooking Dublin Bay and the upmarket suburb of Killiney. It’s a fantastic choice for a weekend that blends country-house relaxation and coastal walks with Dublin sightseeing: the DART light railway is 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel and has a regular service into the city centre.

The heart of the hotel dates to 1740, with the Grill Restaurant in the former dungeon, a welcoming Library Bar, and PJ’s Restaurant. 21st century facilities include the indoor 20 metre pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

From Fitzpatrick Castle the sweep of Killiney Beach – a great place for a Sunday morning stroll – or the pretty village of Dalkey are both about 15 minutes walk in opposite directions. Killiney Hill itself offers walks and spectacular views to Dublin, to the sea and to the Wicklow Mountains.

Sail from Holyhead on Anglesey into Dublin on Irish Ferries’ Epsilon, its flagship Ulysses or (at a supplement) the fastest craft on the Irish Sea, the Dublin Swift catamaran, with up to six departures a day in each direction.
