30 Apr 2018As of this morning Monday 30th, 96% of the bookings affected by the rescheduling of Irish Ferries sailings on its Ireland-France route over the period 12th to the 29th July next, have chosen to be accommodated on alternate sailings to France, with a small portion of these (4%) choosing to cancel and accept a full refund. Dedicated teams continue to be in contact with customers affected by this disruption, because of the likely late delivery of ‘W.B. Yeats’ to Irish Ferries by the German shipyard.
Given the extraordinary circumstances behind these cancellations, we continue to allocate all necessary resources and have deck space and accommodation reserved for remaining passengers, to ensure that their travel arrangements to and from France will proceed.
Irish Ferries again apologises for the inconvenience caused to passengers booked on these sailings.

Dedicated teams in Irish Ferries continue to be in contact with the customers affected by the planned rescheduling of sailings on its Ireland-France route over the period 12th to the 29th July next, as a result of the likely late delivery of ‘W.B. Yeats’ by the German shipyard.
As of this morning Wednesday, 68% of the 2,300 affected bookings have chosen to be accommodated on alternate sailings to France with Irish Ferries with a small number of these (3%) choosing to cancel and accept a full refund. We are working to reschedule the remaining bookings to alternate sailings or to offer a full refund.
Given the extraordinary circumstances behind these cancellations, which are outside of the company’s control, Irish Ferries is committed to assisting passengers in making alternative travel arrangements to France as best it can. We continue to allocate all necessary resources to assist the remaining passengers, and have adequate space and accommodation reserved for them, so as to ensure that their travel arrangements to and from France will proceed.

Dedicated teams in Irish Ferries continue to contact the customers affected by the planned cancellation of sailings on its Dublin – Cherbourg route over the period 12th to the 29th July next, as a result of the advised late delivery of ‘W.B. Yeats’ by the German shipyard.
As of this morning Tuesday, the majority (56%) of the 2,300 affected customers have agreed to be accommodated on alternate sailings to France with Irish Ferries with a small number choosing to cancel and accept a full refund. The remaining customers are currently considering available options.
Given the extraordinary circumstances causing these cancellations, which are outside of the company’s control, Irish Ferries is committed to assisting passengers in making alternative travel arrangements to France as best it can.

UPDATE: ‘W.B. Yeats’ - 12th - 29th July - Cancelled Sailings:

Following notification from the German shipyard late last week that delivery to Irish Ferries of ‘W.B. Yeats’ is to be delayed, and the resultant decision to cancel departures from Dublin to Cherbourg over the two weeks between the 12th and 29th July, Irish Ferries have had a dedicated team working over the weekend to contact all the 2,300 affected customers.
While all those affected were updated on the situation by email on Friday, as soon as practical following the shipyards notification, Irish Ferries has also handled over 2,039 individual contacts by phone or through other channels since then. Each customer has been offered a full ‘no quibble’ refund or a transfer to the most appropriate alternative departure, along with a nominal gesture of goodwill. Most customers so far are opting to transfer to alternate sailings with Irish Ferries.
Given these extraordinary circumstances, which are outside of the company’s control, Irish Ferries is committed to assisting passengers in making alternative travel arrangements to France as best it can.

Important announcement re W.B. Yeats

We have just been informed by the German shipyard building the WB Yeats, that her delivery to Irish Ferries is likely to be delayed. While this delay is not yet fully confirmed by the shipyard we have, in the interests of minimising the level of potential disruption to our customers, taken the decision to cancel a number of affected sailings in July from the 12thJuly to the 29th July.
We are currently in contact with affected customers and offering spaces that we have held on the MV Oscar Wilde that are close to their booked sailing date. In the absence of an acceptable alternative customers will, of course, be entitled to a full refund.
Unfortunately due to this extraordinary circumstance, this is beyond our control. Please accept our utmost apologies for this inconvenience.
