For arrivals into Ireland from the EU, the EU Digital Covid Certificate (DCC) will allow people who are fully vaccinated, had a negative test or are immune after recovering from the virus in the previous 180 days to travel freely around the EU. The requirements for arrivals from France into Ireland from are as follows:
If you are fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 in the past 180 days, with proof, you do not need a PCR test for entry
Passengers aged 12 and above who are not vaccinated or recovered:
Need proof of negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Test results need to state: test is PCR, show full name and time/date of test. Children under 12 years are exempt from this PCR test requirement.
A follow-up test 5 days after arrival is also recommended and is free of charge, details available on HSE.ie.
The Digital COVID Certificate can be used as proof of whichever of the above applies. Other proof of vaccinations and negative RT-PCR tests may also be used.
Your Passenger Locator Form will be checked prior to departure. Passengers will be denied boarding if they cannot produce evidence at check-in of the completed form and evidence of a valid RT-PCR test where required.
At arrival in Ireland, spot checks will be carried out on Digital COVID Certificates, other proof of vaccinations and negative RT-PCR tests as appropriate, and penalties may be issued for non-compliance.
Immigrations Officers will check 1. PLF and 2. Negative PCR test and penalties and / or mandatory quarantine may be issued for non-compliance. Any passenger who breaches the pre-departure testing or mandatory quarantine requirements may be subject to prosecution.
*NOTE – Passenger Locator Form: Enter n/a in respect of Ferry number and Seat number on Step 2 of the online locator form). This applies to all passengers, regardless of country of citizenship (i.e. including Irish citizens). The information on the PLF may be used for the purpose of contact tracing in case you, or another person you have been in contact with, becomes symptomatic for COVID-19.
