Family Freedom by Ferry: Ireland at Easter

03 Apr 2019

A self-drive holiday to Ireland makes for an easy and great value cottage break with Irish Ferries Holidays packages as little as £720 for a family of two adults and up to three children under 16 – including return ferry crossings from Pembroke or Holyhead.

That’s for a three-bedroom holiday cottage at Forest Haven in County Waterford, for any seven nights before 24 April. This well-designed holiday village is only five minutes’ stroll from beautiful Counsellors Strand beach, and 100m from the pretty seaside village of Dunmore East.

There are boat trips, activities and beautiful beaches to discover, plus Viking history in Waterford City within half an hour’s drive.

Alternatively, £790 is the cost of a week at Hayward Mews in County Dublin before 24 April. Guests at these four-star three-bedroom holiday cottages may use – for a small fee – the indoor pool and gym at the adjoining Roganstown Hotel. The seaside attractions of Malahide and Howth, and Dublin city centre sights are all around 30 minutes by car.

For golf fans, Woodstock Demesne holiday homes are set on the edge of Druids Glen course in County Wicklow, and self-catering guests may take advantage of reduced green fees, as well as access to the indoor pool and gym of the five-star golf resort’s hotel.

Again, with three bedrooms, a family of two adults and up to three children under 16 may enjoy a seven-night stay before 24 April for £930, including ferry travel.
