Ireland’s own Chelsea flower show is Bloom-ing lovely
17 May 2019Gardeners can enjoy back-to-back shows if they follow a visit to Chelsea with Ireland’s annual Bloom event due to draw 120,000 visitors between 30 May and 3 June (see bloominthepark.com).
Held in 70 acres of Dublin’s Phoenix Park, there are 21 Show Gardens, a Sculpture in the Park feature, Nursery and Floral marquee, expert speakers and demonstrators, plus horticulture, food and drink exhibitors.
And if you take your car to Ireland, the good news is that bringing plants back to the UK needs no special permissions AND you can shop ‘til you drop at Bloom for plants and garden accessories, packing it all into the car with no ‘excess baggage’ charges to worry about.
Tickets for Bloom are €20 for advance bookings, €25 on the gate.
Get there with Irish Ferries from £312 return for a car and two adults. Irish Ferries can also book hotel accommodation as part of a self-drive package.
