Re-Route via Landbridge through Britain

What you need to know:

  • In the event of a cancellation, we are required to ensure you reach your destination with minimum delay and will therefore always propose the earliest possible alternative sailings where available.
  • Landbridge will be a combination of an Ireland – Britain sailing (on Irish Ferries Dublin-Holyhead or Rosslare-Pembroke routes) with an Irish Ferries Britain-France sailing (on the Dover Calais route)

Approximate driving times:

    • Dover / Holyhead = c. 6 hrs 30 mins – 7 hrs
    • Dover / Pembroke Dock = 5 hrs 30 mins – 6 hrs
  • There will be no extra ticket cost for Irish Ferries booking your landbridge crossings
  • Fuel costs for driving through Britain will be re-imbursed in line with our fuel policy

If you wish to opt for a Landbridge re-routing, please email landbridge@irishferries.com stating

1. Your booking reference.
2. Lead passenger name.
3. Preferred first sailing time.

Departures on the Dover-Calais route are flexible, and you can be accommodated on the next available departure on arrival at port

Transfer to Alternative Sailings

(subject to availability)

What you need to know:

  • Transfer to alternative sailings with either Irish Ferries or other operators is subject to availability of space and suitable alternative sailings:
    • In times of weather disruption and/or peak dates, there may be no space available due to weather cancellations or insufficient space due to being fully booked.

For bookings made by a third party/agent, there is no need to contact them if you are happy with the proposed alternative.

Cancellation & Full Refund

What you need to know

  • If you do not wish to continue with your travel, or wish to make your own travel plans, your booking can be cancelled and a full refund processed.
  • For bookings made directly with Irish Ferries, this will be processed to the card used to make the booking
  • For bookings made via a third party/agent, this refund will need to be processed by them

If you wish to opt for a Cancellation and Refund of a booking made directly with Irish Ferries, please email CancellationRequest@irishferries.com stating

1. Your booking reference
2. Lead passenger name

Your refund will be processed within 5 working days, and no further action is required by you.

Bookings made via a third party/agent:

Request the cancellation before departure directly with the third party/agent, and the refund will needs to be processed by them.
