Travelling to FRANCE

Updated: 03.02.21

We continue to operate our schedules playing a critical role in the supply chain and facilitating essential travel. Our services are operating as normal for freight including freight drivers. We are operating our ‘Travel Safe’ programme to ensure the safety and comfort of both passengers and crew on all our services. See what we are doing here.

Advice is still that travel should be for essential reasons only. Please consult your local health authority for further guidance.

We strongly recommend adding our new flexibility option when making a new booking.

What you need to do before traveling to FRANCE on our Dublin - Cherbourg route:

If you are travelling from the Republic of Ireland, the latest travel advice to France is here .
If you are travelling from Northern Ireland, the latest travel advice is here .

  • Arrivals into France from Ireland must be in possession of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours before embarking the ship, (children aged under 11 years exempted). This will be checked by border control and entry refused for non-compliance. You will also be required to self-isolate for seven days on arrival and take a second test at the end of that period. Details of this requirement and any relevant declarations can be found here.

  • Sworn Statement(s) required for Check-in:
    • All passengers are required to complete a declaration that they do not have COVID-19 symptoms or have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed case in the preceding 14 days: Sworn Statement form.

    • In addition, as travel from the United Kingdom to France is currently permitted for essential reasons only, passengers travelling from the UK (including NI) and/or with a British passport and/or in a British registered car, are required to complete a travel declaration form specifying their reasons for essential travel: UK Essential Travel declaration form.

  • Movements Form: Once in France, there are movement restrictions with a possible curfew (ban on movement 18:00 – 06:00hrs) in place. Essential movements will need to be supported by completion of a declaration form, available to download in English or online in French.

  • By law, French Authorities require passengers to wear a face mask / face covering when arriving into France and when in a closed public area. Please have a face mask / face covering with you when travelling with us and remember that social distancing and face-covering rules are in place throughout France.

  • Contact us if you need to amend your booking.
